The PSI Group develops software products for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities and industry. As an independent software producer with more than 2,300 employees, PSI has been a technology leader since 1969 for process control systems that ensure sustainable energy supply, production and logistics by combining AI methods with industrially proven optimization methods. The innovative industry products can be operated on-premises or in the cloud.

We are a software company in transition – intentionally and with full commitment. For the past four months, we’ve been working within our new value stream-oriented Business Unit Grid & Energy Management to transform from a project-driven provider of customized solutions into a true product company. The journey is challenging but full of opportunity – for our customers (m/f/d), for us, and for you.

In product management, we are actively driving this transformation. We create clarity around goals, take responsibility for the strategic development of our products, and strengthen collaboration with development, sales, service, and our customers. In short: We are laying the foundation for our products to be economically successful and indispensable for our customers (m/f/d).

Tasks inspiring you

As Product Manager (m/f/d) for Work & Metering Processes, you will take on responsibility for two products: the strategically established PSIcommand and PSIrwin, whose future role we will continue to shape together. Both support grid operators in the planning, execution, and documentation of operational activities – from construction projects to metering operations. Working closely with fellow product managers (m/f/d), technical experts, user groups, and regulatory authorities, you will drive the ongoing development of these products. At the same time, you’ll be part of a team that is actively shaping the transformation of our entire product landscape – beyond individual products.

And one more thing: Our motto in Product Management is “Thoroughness over speed.” We believe in well-founded decisions, sustainable solutions – and that good product management is no accident.

What we’re currently working on in Product Management

  • Defining a target vision for our product portfolio – as a foundation for focused market strategies and sustainable success

  • Developing and embedding a shared understanding of product management – both inside and outside the business unit

  • Evolving our CSF Initiative into a modernization and platform program

  • Conducting workshops with technical writers (m/f/d) and interdisciplinary teams

  • Strengthening collaboration across the PSI Software SE business units

  • Establishing clear processes, roles, and priorities – functionally and across teams

Qualifications that inspire us

  • A structured, entrepreneurial mindset – business cases are not a foreign concept to you

  • Experience in product management – or a clear ambition to develop in that direction

  • You don’t need to be a developer (m/f/d) – but you should understand technical contexts (e.g., data models, interfaces, or software testing) to communicate effectively with development and QA

  • Enjoy working with others, speaking plainly, and communicating proactively

  • Strong communication skills in both German and English

  • A solid understanding of grid operators and critical infrastructure – or the willingness to learn quickly and thoroughly

  • And: If you cringe at highly customized project-specific development – welcome to the club

Look forward to

  • Creative freedom in a company that’s reinventing itself

  • Colleagues who are eager to learn together and make a difference

  • Strategically relevant products with real customer value

  • Direct line to the VP Product Management and collaboration at eye level

  • Flexible working conditions and development opportunities

  • Your work makes a difference – for grid operators, supply security, and the success of the energy transition

  • You’ll be part of a small but experienced product team with close exchange – embedded in a functional unit of around 30 colleagues (m/f/d) from Product Management, Academy and Technical Writing
